Some cookies are necessary for website functionality, account authentication, security, and checkout.
FamilySafe may also use analytics or advertising technologies provided by third parties. These technologies may collect information about your device, website activity, or interactions with FamilySafe content.
FamilySafe does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
If FamilySafe begins using advertising or tracking technologies that constitute a “sale,” “sharing,” targeted advertising, or similar regulated activity under a law applicable to a particular user, FamilySafe will provide any notice, consent mechanism, or opt-out method required by that law.
Users may also control certain cookies through browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may prevent portions of the website from functioning properly.
5. How We Share Information
FamilySafe does not disclose personal information merely for another company's independent marketing purposes.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to operate our business or provide requested services, including to:
Technology and hosting providers that support our website, databases, hosting, security, backups, communications, and technical infrastructure.

Business or employer customers when they sponsor, purchase, or arrange training for their employees, members, students, or participants.

Service providers that process information for FamilySafe are expected to use information only for authorized purposes consistent with the services they provide.
6. Employer-Sponsored and Business-to-Business Training
An employer, school, organization, facility, association, or other business customer may provide FamilySafe with participant information for sponsored training.
This may include participant names, email addresses, employment or organizational affiliation, scheduled courses, attendance, completion status, and related training information.
FamilySafe may provide the sponsoring organization with information reasonably necessary to administer the training it purchased, including enrollment status, attendance, completion status, certificates or completion documentation, and other agreed-upon training records.
FamilySafe will not provide an employer or organization with unrelated personal information merely because it sponsored a course.
Where FamilySafe processes information under a separate written agreement with an organization, the terms of that agreement may impose additional privacy or data-handling requirements.
7. Educational and Completion Records
FamilySafe maintains records reasonably necessary to operate its training programs and document participation.
These records may include:
Enrollment history.
Lesson or module completion.
Assessment scores.
Practice activity.
Skills evaluations.
Attendance.
Instructor observations relevant to training.
Remediation activity.
Completion status.
Certificates and certificate-verification information.
FamilySafe may retain certain completion records after a student's active course access ends when reasonably necessary to verify past training, respond to disputes, satisfy business or legal requirements, or provide replacement completion documentation.
8. Marketing and Transactional Communications
FamilySafe may send transactional or operational communications necessary to provide requested services. These may include purchase confirmations, password-reset messages, class reminders, scheduling changes, account notices, course updates, certificate notices, safety information, and customer-support communications.
These operational messages are different from promotional marketing communications.
Where required by law, FamilySafe will obtain appropriate consent before sending marketing communications.
Recipients of promotional email messages may unsubscribe using the method included in the message.
If FamilySafe offers promotional text messaging in the future, consent to receive marketing text messages will not be required as a condition of purchasing FamilySafe services, unless otherwise permitted by law.
9. Children and Minors
FamilySafe's general website and online account system are not directed to children under 13.
FamilySafe does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without appropriate parent or legal guardian authorization where required by law.
Some FamilySafe educational or community programs may be appropriate for participants younger than 18. When appropriate, FamilySafe may require authorization, registration, acknowledgement, or consent from a parent or legal guardian.
FamilySafe may establish age requirements for particular programs based on course content, safety requirements, credentialing rules, equipment, contractual requirements, or applicable law.
If a parent or guardian believes that FamilySafe has collected information from a child improperly, the parent or guardian may contact FamilySafe using the information at the end of this Policy.
10. Audio, Video, and Class Recordings
FamilySafe may occasionally offer virtual classes, meetings, coaching sessions, demonstrations, or other services using video or audio communications.
FamilySafe will not intentionally record a class, meeting, coaching session, or other covered communication without providing appropriate notice and obtaining consent where required.
Because Florida law generally requires prior consent of all parties for covered interceptions or recordings, FamilySafe will use a separate and conspicuous recording notice or consent process when recording is intended rather than relying solely on acceptance of this Privacy Policy.
Participants may be instructed not to record FamilySafe classes or other participants without authorization.
11. Data Security and Florida Breach Requirements
FamilySafe uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain.
These safeguards may include access controls, authentication measures, password protections, secure communications, system logging, backups, restricted administrative access, vendor controls, and other reasonable security practices.
No website, network, storage system, or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
FamilySafe is a Florida-based business and handles covered personal information in accordance with applicable federal and Florida law, including the Florida Information Protection Act, Fla. Stat. § 501.171.
Florida law requires covered entities to take reasonable measures to protect and secure electronic personal information and establishes requirements for responding to certain security breaches.
If FamilySafe determines that a security incident requires notification under applicable law, FamilySafe will provide required notices in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements.
12. Data Retention and Secure Disposal
FamilySafe retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and may be affected by:
The length of a customer or student relationship.
Training and certificate-verification needs.
Accounting and tax requirements.
Payment or refund disputes.
Contractual obligations.
Safety and incident documentation.
Fraud prevention.
Legal claims.
Regulatory requirements.
Business recordkeeping requirements.
When records containing protected personal information are no longer reasonably required, FamilySafe uses reasonable measures to delete, destroy, anonymize, or render the information unreadable or undecipherable, as appropriate.
Florida law includes requirements concerning reasonable protection and disposal of certain customer records containing personal information.
13. Your Information and Privacy Requests
Depending on applicable law and your relationship with FamilySafe, you may be able to request:
Access to certain personal information FamilySafe maintains about you.
Correction of inaccurate account information.
Deletion of certain personal information.
A copy of certain information.
Updating of communication preferences.
FamilySafe also voluntarily considers reasonable access, correction, and deletion requests even when a particular statutory privacy right does not apply.
Requests may be subject to identity verification.
FamilySafe may deny, limit, or modify a request when retaining information is reasonably necessary or legally permitted for purposes such as:
Transaction records.
Taxes and accounting.
Training and certificate verification.
Fraud or security prevention.
Contractual obligations.
Exercise or defense of legal claims.
Compliance with law.
Protection of FamilySafe or others.
Submitting a deletion request does not necessarily require FamilySafe to delete records it has a lawful business, contractual, safety, or legal reason to retain.
14. Florida Privacy Rights
FamilySafe is based in Florida and recognizes applicable privacy and data-security obligations under Florida law.
Florida's Digital Bill of Rights applies only to businesses satisfying its statutory applicability criteria. FamilySafe does not represent through this Policy that every right or requirement contained in that law necessarily applies to FamilySafe.
The statute defines covered controllers using criteria that include significant revenue and specified technology or advertising activities.
Regardless of whether a particular consumer-privacy statute applies, FamilySafe seeks to provide reasonable transparency and reasonable methods for customers to request access to or correction of their information.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit rights a consumer may have under an applicable federal or state law.
15. Third-Party Websites and Services
FamilySafe websites or courses may contain links to websites, documents, videos, government resources, certification organizations, payment providers, educational materials, or services operated by third parties.
FamilySafe does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.
Visiting an external website or service may subject you to that party's privacy policy and terms.
16. Sensitive Information
Please do not provide Social Security numbers, complete banking credentials, complete payment-card numbers, medical records, health-insurance identifiers, government identification documents, or other highly sensitive information unless FamilySafe specifically requests the information for a legitimate and identified purpose.
FamilySafe does not need such information for most ordinary course enrollments.
If FamilySafe requires sensitive information for a particular lawful business process, FamilySafe will take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of that information.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
FamilySafe may update this Privacy Policy as its services, technology, business practices, legal obligations, or privacy practices change.
When material changes are made, FamilySafe will update the Last Updated date above and may provide additional notice when appropriate.
Changes do not retroactively alter the wording of disclosures or acknowledgements previously stored by FamilySafe as historical transaction records.
